I have a better appreciation of being a minority. Getting in an elevator by myself....followed by 6 or 7 Chinese .
The group of educators I am with have said, I could probably get around for a day without an interpreter due to my outgoing approach with everyone I speak with.
The trip is educational, exciting and fun.
I ask myself often.......WHY DO WE HAVE WARS???????
The tears have flown from my eyes often especially when I see the beggars, the poor, and especially when I see the young children..... I want to save the world. Of course I have given......yesterday I pulled quarters out of kids ears and at one time almost caused a great deal of excitement with the kids...... It warmed my heart! I felt for that moment I made a difference for someone:) tears are following now!
For those of you who do not know I brought 20 dollars worth of quarters. But these quarters were special ..... A bank in Myerstown collected PA quarters for me. I had asked them and they delivered. Mimi please thank them again for me.
Enough of being mellow ..... Everyone Spits......Big time
I am eating my vegetables, often , and often and often. I have tried different foods.
I also want you to know I am trying to give you a glimpse of what I am experiencing. Some colleagues are going to blog when they get back. I feel as though that approach would not be effective. I also appreciate those of you who comment, I do see the comments. I also have developed new friendships with colleagues from PA, Massachusetts and New York. My colleagues are great people and we are sharing with each other ideas about our own schools. My good friend Joe Padasak , has been great to travel with....we certainly had our laughs.
Finally, I really do not have much time to say I miss home.... But I really do. A week from today we will be on our to Shanghai for a day and half followed by a return trip home.
BTW the YANKESS are starting to get their act together. Look out.
