Forbidden City

Forbidden City
It is the largest and best preserved complex of ancient buildings. The city was off limits for more than 500 years. We started at the South Gate of Forbidden City and walked all the way to the North Gate. The distance is about 950 meters. It took us three hours. We learned so much. There is a hall of Supreme Harmony which has a Dragon Theme, this is where the emperor would preside over trembling officials. The next hall would be the Hall of Middle Harmony which served as a transit lounge for the emperor. The third hall is the Hall of Preserving Harmony used for banquets. As you can see this can on and on. I would suggest you google this and get more information. BTW google is unavailable in China.  The building are so detailed with paintings and beautiful art work. These three hours  were filled with so much history ... You should really spend three days to get a complete understanding. I think there had to be 300,000 people there of our visit. I base this on going to PSU games where there are 100,000. Many of my colleagues would agree with my thinking.  We now are on a four hour bus trip to our host families. I am going to listen to music, read, type and SLEEP. Good by to Beijing ......what a CITY.  I am going to recline in my seat and listen to Al Green, Doobie Brothers,  America , Chicago, Dan Fogelberg, Fleetwood Mac, Carlie Simon and many others, by now you should know I will be into the 70's and getting some shut eye.
